A vigilant citizen and prompt actions by the San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies led to the arrest of an alleged car burglar in the North Fair Oaks neighborhood this past Saturday night, authorities said.
The Sheriff's deputies were called to the 3100 block of Edison Ave. in North Fair Oaks after a report came in at just past 9:30 p.m. about a suspect who was actively burglarizing a vehicle, escaping then on foot towards 5th Ave., according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.
Deputy swiftly canvassed the area, culminating in the proximity apprehension of 38-year-old Jorge Caballero-Villa of Redwood City. He was apprehended and subsequently held at the Maguire Correctional Facility on a slew of charges: auto burglary as set out under 460(b) PC, vandalism in violation of 594(b)(1) PC, and possession of drug paraphernalia contravening 11364(a) HS.
