LGE Community Credit Union Joins Forces with Cobb County Safety Village for Enhanced Safety EducationSource: Cobb County Government

LGE Community Credit Union is stepping up as a big player in community safety, initiating a partnership with the Cobb County Safety Village Foundation. This new alliance is aimed at ramping up safety education efforts in Cobb County, a purpose both entities hold dear. As the latest major sponsor, LGE plans to leave a lasting mark on the county's landscape—quite literally—with its own educational building on the Safety Village's grounds.

"At LGE, we are committed to giving back to the communities we serve," said Chris Leggett, president and CEO of LGE Community Credit Union, in a statement. With the promise to educate citizens about fire, pedestrian, and bicycle safety and more, the Safety Village uses reduced-scale models of buildings, streets, and traffic signals that mirror a real town to provide hands-on, interactive learning experiences, according to The Cobb County official website.

The president and CEO's commitment echoed through the foundation's eight-acre property recently when LGE leadership and board members from the Safety Village Foundation drove shovels into the ground at the future site of the new LGE building. Aimed for completion in late 2024, this new facility will join others in educating families in a realistic, but controlled environment.

About to add more than just monetary value, according to The Cobb County announcement, the credit union is among the elite, ranked as the #1 credit union in Georgia by Forbes, and featured in Newsweek's list of America's Best Credit Unions 2024. Known for their financial prowess, LGE Community Credit Union is not only committed to personal finance but also to philanthropy through the LGE Community Outreach Foundation that has donated over $2 million to local nonprofits and individuals in need since 2010.
