A Lithonia man has been charged in connection with a deadly shooting at a Little Caesars Pizza in Lee County, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Daquan Divonte Harris, 28, faces felony murder and aggravated assault charges for the death of Joseph Dorminey, 50, of Leesburg, Georgia.

Responding to an incident around 9:20 p.m. on May 3, 2024, the GBI and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office found Dorminey with gunshot wounds at the pizza establishment. He was transported to Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany, where he succumbed to his injuries, as per the GBI's official release.

Harris was apprehended the following morning at approximately 8:30 a.m. by the deputies of the Lee County Sheriff's Office and subsequently booked into the county facility. The investigation into the events that led to Dorminey's death is ongoing.

Authorities are asking anyone with information pertinent to this case to come forward, urging contacts to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office or the GBI Regional Investigative Office in Americus.
