A man has been left critically injured following a morning altercation that led to a shooting in the neighborhood of Hickory Hill. According to the WREG report, Memphis Police were called to the 6300 block of Crown Imperial Drive around 7:30 a.m. where they discovered the wounded individual.

The circumstances have yet to fully unravel, but early indications suggest that the victim was purposefully targeted. Police seem to believe the incident wasn't random, noting that the shooter was known to the victim. The injured man was quickly transported to Regional One Hospital for urgent medical attention.

Details surrounding the shooting remain sparse as the Memphis Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances of this violent encounter. The identity of the suspect, as well as the motives behind the shooting, have not been disclosed.

The authorities have made a public appeal for assistance. Anyone with knowledge about the incident is encouraged to come forward. The Memphis Police Department has urged witnesses or anyone with information to reach out by calling 901-528 CASH, according to a statement on Action News 5.
