Deputy Thwarts Burglary at Apple Valley Walgreens, Two Suspects ChargedSource: Google Street View

Early Friday morning, a deputy of the Apple Valley Police Department responded to a break-in at Walgreen's after a triggered alarm called them to State Highway 18. The fast-acting Deputy B. Almazan discovered two suspects attempting to evade the law behind the store, amidst the blare of sirens.

The Walgreen's was victim to an ill-fated burglary, as Almazan found more than just broken promises behind those walls. Joshua Wayne Stonerock and Alyson Noell Walter, locals of Apple Valley, had presumably thought the early hours would cloak their actions. They were caught with drugs, and Stonerock – no stranger to the law – also had a stun gun to his name.

The pair faced swift justice with Stonerock's pocket weighed down by methamphetamine, heroin, and copper pipes pilfered from the store. Due to his criminal history, Stonerock's punishment included charges for possession of a controlled substance for sales, burglary, and possession of a stun gun by a felon with his bail set at a steep $40,000. Walter, caught up in the same mess, saw her freedom bought at $30,000 for the burglary charge.

According to the Sheriff's report, the High Desert Detention Center became the duo's new residence while the aftermath of their actions settled. Should passersby have caught a glimpse of the morning's drama, authorities urge them to step forward with information, offering a veil of anonymity for those who fear the light.

As the investigation continues, the point of contact remains Deputy Almazan of the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station, with further avenues for anonymous tips through the We-Tip Hotline. The community watches as the balance between criminality, and consequence tips once more, a small victory in the ongoing battle to keep our streets clean.
