Drivers in Fountain Hills, gear up for some delays. Starting this coming Monday, Panorama Drive will be undergoing significant revamp work, as confirmed by the town's official website. The repaving project, slated to begin May 6, will stretch until May 23, obstructing the daily commute of many.

The construction, targeting the southbound stretch from Saguaro Blvd to Saguaro Blvd, will only allow northbound traffic passage, according to the town's announcement. Expected to kick off at 6 a.m. and calling it a day at 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, workers will be out milling and grading to promise us smoother rides ahead. Beginning bright and early at 7 a.m. on May 6, milling will strip away the asphalt, digging down a good 3-4 inches, while grading is set to start on May 8.

The final touch of paving is penciled in for May 22 and 23, requiring the sun to bake it hard for roughly 5 to 6 hours after the big roll. Yet, the weather might have its ideas; the schedule can change on a dime if the skies shift from sunny to sullen.

The town officials have made it clear, "Emergency (Police & Fire), Recycling & Trash services will not be impacted by construction. They will have access twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week. In the event of an emergency, contact 911"
