Minneapolis Streets to Blossom with New Murals by Local Artists in Community-School CollaborationSource: Google Street View

Minneapolis is set to get a splash of color, with two new street murals in the works courtesy of local talent and the city's youth. These vibrant installations aren't just about beautifying the streets, but also about cementing community values and showcasing the stories that bind the neighborhood together.

Artists Constanza Caraballo and Marco Aguero are joining forces with teachers and the creative minds at South High School and Folwell Community School. Caraballo, a South High alum, knows firsthand the impact of such projects. Caraballo said she participated in a project while attending South High School that showed her she could have a creative career, in a statement obtained by the City of Minneapolis website. Now, she's come full circle, helping students find their own creative paths.

The designs will be revealed to the public on May 9, so mark your calendars for a chance to meet the artists and learn about their creative journey. The unveiling is scheduled at Corcoran Park Recreation Center, so if you fancy a sneak peek of what's about to hit the pavement, that’s the place to be. Details about the event can be found on the City of Minneapolis website.
