Thousand Oaks Woman Faces Multiple Charges After Wild Pursuit Ends in Crash Near Lost HillsSource: Google Street View

A wild car chase through Los Angeles County came to a crashing halt early Monday when a burglary suspect slammed into a tree while trying to shake off pursuing officers, authorities said. The mayhem kicked off around 12:30 a.m. as Ventura County Sheriff's deputies attempted to pull over a woman for speeding in Thousand Oaks, as reported by KTLA.

The driver, identified as a 29-year-old Thousand Oaks woman, sped away when officers discovered she had a warrant for her arrest linked to a burglary case. According to a statement obtained by Ventura County Star, Sheriff’s Capt. James Sullivan said, "She jumped back in, closed the door, and sped away" after deputies told her she was under arrest. The pursuit zipped along the 101 Freeway and into residential areas where the suspect rammed into three marked sheriff’s patrol cars.

California Highway Patrol officers joined the fray as the chase continued into their jurisdiction. After an hour-long pursuit, the CHP executed a tactical maneuver that sent the suspect's Mazda SUV spinning to a stop near Lost Hills and Las Virgenes roads. The arrest took place around 2 a.m., with no injuries reported to either the deputies or the suspect.
