Two Los Angeles Men Arrested in Pinon Hills Sting Operation, Suspected of Possessing Stolen Goods and Illegal ItemsSource: SBSD - Victor Valley Sheriff's Department

Pinon Hills became the backdrop for a sting operation on Friday morning that resulted in two arrests. Deputies conducted an area check, which led them to recover stolen equipment and arrest two Los Angeles men on various charges. Alejandro Gonzalez, 39, and Jose Guzman, 38, were taken into custody after a stolen Bobcat, identified by a unique concrete-breaking attachment, was discovered at a residence on Boy Scout Ranch Road, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

Upon their arrival, deputies were greeted by Gonzalez, who swiftly became a suspect. A thorough search warrant penned by Deputy Morales led to the discovery of the controlled substances and illegal ammunition within premises. Gonzalez was found with methamphetamine on his person and in his vehicle, while Guzman, a felon with a hefty $1,110,000.00 warrant for weapons violations, was found in possession of ammunition suitable for a high-powered rifle, the Sheriff's Department reported.

In addition to the Bobcat, authorities located two additional stolen skid steers. The arrests of Gonzalez and Guzman occurred without incident. Gonzalez, a registered PC 290 offender, and Guzman are both facing serious charges related to their possession of stolen property and other offenses.

The incident is now under an investigative lens as deputies urge anyone with further details to step forward. In a call for community cooperation, information can be shared with Deputy R. Morales at the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station, with the assurance of anonymity through We-Tip. The stakes are high as the Sheriff's Department works to clamp down on the nexus of stolen goods and illegal activities, as underscored in their statement.
