Don’t tell anyone, but Noc Noc, the Lower Haight’s most unusual bar (their words, not ours), has had a little work done.

After a few weeks of construction, Noc Noc has shed its plywood cocoon to reveal new street-side windows and a more spacious front seating area.

Rahmat Shirakhon, who has owned the bar since 1991, tell us it's the first significant change to the place during his tenure. Thankfully, he had the wisdom to leave the Beetle Juician interior intact.

In a city with no shortage of soulless bars, three cheers to Noc Noc for keeping it weird.
