It's no secret that we like ice cream over here at Haighteration headquarters. It might be a secret that we also like helping people. So, this one's up our alley twice.
Three Twins Ice Cream is churning up a special prize for a city-wide charity auction this week. The auction benefits La Cocina, a San Francisco incubator kitchen that gives low-income entrepreneurs — primarily women — resources to help get their food-related businesses off the ground.
Over the next 8 days, a bunch of local restaurants, bars, and businesses are auctioning off mouth-watering prizes on eBay, with 100% of each item's final sale price benefiting La Cocina.
So what's Three Twins offering, you ask? Well, if you're the winning bidder, you'll get to take a rare, Charlie Buckett-style tour of the new Three Twins ice cream factory in Petaluma, then create a batch of your own custom ice cream. And when you're done with that, you'll wobble home with an assortment of Three Twins varieties, plus 25 pints of the flavor you invented.
I said 25 pints. Let's just visualize that for a creamy second, OK?
If ice cream's not your thing, A) what's wrong with you, but also B) there are plenty of other items in this auction that might be up your alley.

Be sure to get your bids in ASAP, cuz the auction ends August 26th. There are currently 33 items available, and they're all making us crazy hungry, so please excuse us while we end this post and go stuff our faces.
