Starting today, 248 Fillmore St will play host to Zerofriends, a pop-up store featuring apparel, prints, and toys designed by graphic illustrator Alex Pardee.

Remember back in May, when folks were lined up down Fillmore trying to get into Upper Playground's old FIFTY24SF Gallery space to meet somebody? Yeah, that was Pardee. It was the final stop of his Sketch 4 Sketch Tour, in which the artist road-tripped around the nation exchanging sketches with fans. Pardee's twisted designs have graced everything from graphic novels to album covers, and he has developed one hell of a following. Now, Pardee returns to the space with Zerofriends, a retail shop which first popped up in New York City in January to much acclaim. In addition to merchandise, the store will host surprise artist signings, movie nights, and appearances by Pardee himself. They'll also be having a grand opening event this Saturday from 2-4pm, where Pardee will be "hanging, signing, and making bad puns live in person." His words, not ours -- but we're intrigued, because we love bad puns. (Plus, we love to Pardee.) The shop will be open daily from 12 - 7pm, today until November 1st. And heck, this is one of those one-of-a-kind events that makes other folks wish they lived in San Francisco, let alone the Lower Haight -- so, don't miss it.
