Renovation of Pink Mansion to Begin This Week
We kicked off 2011 here at Haighteration with a story about the supposedly-imminent renovation of the big pink mansion at the corner of Pierce and Waller. Within a month or so, we were told, a thorough transformation (and ghostbustification) of the property would begin. But here we are, almost three months later, and the building remains in a suspended state of spookiness. Thankfully, it looks like that's finally going to change this week.

Prompted by questions from several readers, we recently contacted John Warner of Urban Green Investments, the developers who purchased the property back in November. Warner tells us that they're planning on starting construction on the property "this week." Why the delay? "The planning & permitting were complex," Warner says. (Kinda goes without saying in this city, huh?) We'll follow this extreme home makeover as it develops, of course, and will keep you posted accordingly!
