Board of Supervisors Commends Lower Haight Fire Response
Yesterday the San Francisco Board of Supervisors issued special commendations for Pierre Pegeron, Gustavo Manzanares, and the Lower Haight Merchants and Neighbors Association (LoHaMNA) for their respective roles in responding to the September 27th fire at Haight and Fillmore.

Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi kicked things off by introducing the recipients: Lo-Cost Meats co-owner Pierre Pegeron and painter Gustavo Manzanares, who rushed into the building to evacuate residents, and LoHaMNA, which has been raising funds and coordinating donations for the displaced tenants. Pegeron and Manzanares both spoke, as did LoHaMNA President Thea Selby and board member Lisa Shin. SF Fire Department Chief Joanne Hayes-White also said a few words praising the heroics of Pegeron and Manzanares. Here's footage of the proceedings. Apologies in advance for the low quality - we had to improvise here.
