It's been a long time coming, but a colorful, five-panel mural by artist Sam Flores was finally installed at 645 Haight Street yesterday.
The mural features whimsical characters in some sort of enchanted forest. There's a boat full of what appear to be Venetian musicians, an arc of rainbow-colored birds, and two forlorn-looking women, one of whom holds a peacock.
Originally the mural was scheduled to be unveiled in August, but we're told that anti-graffiti treatment delayed the work's completion.
Here's a look at all five panels, stitched together. Click to open a larger version in a new window.
