Buddhist Temple Up For GrabsGoogle Maps
You probably won't get many opportunities to live in a 7,000 square foot Buddhist Temple -- let alone one located in the Lower Haight. But, here's your chance.

It seems the Tse Chen Ling Buddhist center at 399 Webster will be hitting the rental market on July 1. According to a listing that appeared on Craigslist this weekend, the "extraordinary massive versatile use mansion" features:
  • 8 bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms
  • 7 decorative fireplaces
  • A game room with a bowling alley and bathroom/kitchen
  • Hand crafted woodwork, restored original fixtures and intricate detailing
  • ...and more!
The building currently houses the Tse Chen Ling center, which is "an urban meditation, study and practice center" that formed in 1990. No word yet on whether the center intends to move or is closing altogether, but we've contacted its director and will update with any additional info. In the meantime, you and 7 friends need to start figuring out how to scrape together the $13,999 a month it'll take to make this your new home.
