Capsule Design Festival Returns to Hayes Valley with New Nameflickr/emilydickinsonridesabmx
The Capsule Design Festival is returning to Hayes Valley next month, but this time with a new name. Retitled as the Urban Air Market, this large marketplace will hit our neighborhood on Sunday, May 6 from 11am-6pm on Patricia's Green.

Self-described as the "largest outdoor design festival in the country and the only independent fashion show focusing on sustainable design," the Urban Air Market will have 150 designers selling all types of clothing, art and jewelry that have an emphasis on sustainability. If you're curious as to which vendors will be set up along Octavia (and a few surrounding streets), the Urban Air Market website contains a list of each participating designer and a link to their own websites so you can get a feel for their products and style. They also have a space for you to apply to be a vendor. If you fit their mission & criteria and are interested in showcasing/selling your own t-shirts or bracelets, this is a great chance to do it here in your own 'hood. You'll need something relaxing to do the day after both Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby and think this might be it. Mark it on your calendar and see you there.
