Won't You Be My Neighbor: Twitter Moves into Mid-Markettwitter hq via bob m.
A little bird told us we got a new neighbor this week. Okay, maybe it was a big bird. A large, newly redesigned blue bird.

On Monday, Twitter moved its (almost) 800 employees from their location near Yerba Buena Gardens to 1355 Market Street. The company moved into a newly-owned Shorenstein building and is currently taking up three floors (including the roof deck as seen above). According to SFAppeal, as part of a deal to revitalize the Mid-Market part of town, the Board of Supervisors voted on April 5, 2011 to "exempt payroll taxes for new employees for companies that move to the area on or near Market Street between Fifth Street and Van Ness Avenue." And Twitter isn't the only one who's taking advantage of this. Zendesk already moved in last August and CallSocket, One Kings Lane, and Yammer are all planning on making the SF Market building their home soon. Being so close to this new business hub, how are you feeling about all our new neighbors moving in? See good things for our 'hood in the future? Worried about crowding issues? Let us know what you're thinking.
