Welcome to the end of August. Here are a couple of things that might interest you this weekend.

First, tonight through Monday the Castro Theatre is having their periodic weekend viewing of Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo. If you haven't seen it, you must. Set in San Francisco, beautiful, weird, considered by many to be his masterpiece--there really is no reason not to see it. See San Francisco at Fort Point, Russian and Telegraph hills, the Legion of Honor, Mission Dolores, etc. circa 1955. In addition to all of which, the crowd at the Castro is always appreciative and laughs at exactly the wrong (right) parts. Now's your chance--this one really deserves the big screen. Then, tonight only at Mezzanine, Chromatics are playing a show. They are EXCELLENT and we recommend them. If you're feeling like some satin-edged, rainy night Italodisco, or even if you're not, check them out! Here's the title track off their new album Kill For Love, just to get you in the mood. Enough said, right? OK, tickets are here. Happy weekending!
