Last night, the Harvey Milk Recreation Center Friends of Duboce Park sponsored an outdoor movie night in Duboce Park, featuring the 1993 Robin Williams comedy "Mrs. Doubtfire." Our correspondent Katie Kuhn was on hand for the screening, and sent back some photos and observations from the scene.

"It was absolutely FREEZING," Katie notes, "despite being so nice all day." According to weather.com, the temperature around movie time was 56 degrees, but the park's notorious winds undoubtedly made it feel chillier than that. The movie was screened at the top section of the park, and was preceded by some videos by students from the Harvey Milk Center. The videos began playing at 8:15pm, and in Katie's opinion, they went on a little too long. "Don't get me wrong, it's a good cause and the kids were adorable, but there were literally 6 videos... They also did a memorial slideshow for a woman who recently passed away and loved the park... [So the] movie didn't start until almost 9." For some added fun during the movie, Mrs. Doubtfire Bingo sheets were passed around, with questions like "How did Mr. Doubtfire die," and "What is the name of the cartoon bird that Daniel does the voice for?" Katie says there wasn't any obvious follow-up about the bingo game at the end of the screening. The movie itself seemed to be a hit though. "That movie is AWESOME," Katie says. "I'd forgotten how funny it is." She also notes some surprising audience participation at different moments during the film. "There was a LOT of audible support for Robin Williams's character and his rights as a father. Outbursts about how he has the right to see his kids, etc." Overall, Katie and a few others we've heard from seemed to really enjoy last night's festivities, despite the chill.
