It was a jubilant scene in the Lower Haight last night, as throngs of Giants fans filled our streets -- and bars -- to celebrate the team's World Series victory.

Here's our contributor Stephannie Depa's first-hand account of the excitement: "In true Giants form, the game was absolute torture from the start. It was tied throughout the majority of the game, and dragged on into extra innings. But being a Giants fan is no easy feat; we’re used to the torture (maybe we even like it?), and we didn’t stop believing. "The crowd at Mad Dog in the Fog was electric. Stomping, clapping, and chanting all night, we never lost hope in our Misfits. Romo threw the last strike and we were instantly showered with beer and champagne. “Jump Around” by House of Pain played over the sound system, and we screamed, jumped, danced and high-fived our hearts out. "The party continued into the street, and the 500 block of Haight was filled with chanting, dancing, and bright orange rally rags. Firecrackers, fireworks, sparklers, brooms, champagne -- we sure do know how to party. It’s moments like these that make me so happy to be a part of the Lower Haight community, and even happier to call myself a Giants fan! Cheers to 2013! Is it preseason yet?"
