Captain Mannix Replaced at SFPD Northern Stationsf-police.org
Ann Mannix (pictured above), announced today that she has been reassigned, meaning SFPD's Northern Station will soon have a new captain.

In her regular email newsletter, Captain Mannix writes:
"Sadly this will be my last Northern Station Newsletter. Effective 12/22 I have been reassigned and will now head up the Tactical Company. I have been here at Northern a little over three years and have enjoyed every moment of my assignment. The men and women of this station are top notch, dedicated, professionals that I am very privileged to have lead during my tenure. I am excited and look forward to the challenges of my new assignment and am confident in the abilities of the new commanding officer of Northern Station, Captain Greg McEachern. My email will not change and if I can be of service to you in the future please feel free to contact me."
The Tactical Company is described on the SFPD's website as responding to "critical incidents and high-risk search warrant entries in an attempt to resolve these incidents through the use of specialized training and equipment." Greg McEachern has previous experience in the SFPD's Risk Management Division and as Captain of the SFPD's Southern Station, which covers the entirety of SoMa. He also served in the Northern Station, which covers the Lower Haight from Steiner eastward. Best of luck to Captain Mannix at the Tactical Unit, and likewise good luck to our incoming Captain McEachern. Lord knows with all the car break-ins, robberies and muggings in the area of late, there'll be plenty of work to do...
