CRIME WATCH: Carjacking/<del>Hate Crime</del> at Hartford and 18th Street

The SFPD is seeking the community's assistance to identify two suspects that carjacked two victims on the evening of Friday, November 30th. The victims, who had just parked their vehicle at Hartford Street and 18th Street, were accosted at gunpoint by two male adults wearing dark hoodies.

The victims were pistol-whipped and forced back into their vehicle, and were then forced to drive the suspects North on Hartford, East on 17th and South on Noe, while continuously being beaten with the handgun.

The assaulting criminals left the vehicle on Noe fleeing in an unknown direction. One victim, who sustained a fractured skull in the incident, reported the suspects threatened to kill them and repeatedly called them "fags" which qualifies as a hate crime in this City (SF Weekly reported that the word "fag" was not uttered as initial reports indicated).

If you were in the vicinity of 18th Street and Hartford, 17th Street between Hartford and Noe, or Noe Street on November 30th and may have witnessed something to help identify the suspects, where they came from or where they fled, please contact Mission Police Station at (415) 553-0123 and ask to speak with Sgt. Castillo or anyone else working the case.
