If you've admired the five-panel mural at 645 Haight Street, you're already familiar with the work of artist Sam Flores. Tonight, Flores returns to the neighborhood with a solo show of new works debuting at Fifty24SF.
The show, dubbed "Lion and the Lamb," will include oil paintings, pen & ink drawings and sculptures. Juxtapoz quotes the artist as saying, "My new show delves into themes that I touch on a lot in my work... The struggle of good and bad light and dark, innocence and evil. I'm taking you to a more rich, colorful world of struggle temptation and hope." The opening reception runs tonight at Fifty24SF (218 Fillmore) from 6:30pm to 10pm, followed by an afterparty at Blackbird. "Lion and the Lamb" will be on display through February 12th.
