Celebrate Pi Day at Memphis Minnie'sFlickr/boxchain
Thursday is 3/14, known to geometry buffs and baked goods lovers alike as Pi Day. This year, Memphis Minnie's (576 Haight) is rolling out a special line-up of seven pies for the pseudo-holiday.

The varieties includes three new savory pies and one new dessert option, in addition to the three pies they regularly feature on their menu. They are: Chili Cheese Hand Pie Prepared with smoked Texas Beef Brisket Chili and sharp cheddar cheese, encased in a savory, flaky pie crust and then fried crispy to a golden brown. Texas Beef Brisket Pot Pie Smoked Texas Beef Brisket tossed in a medley of veggies, swimming in rich beef gravy, fortified with just a splash of red wine. Minnie's Smoked Chicken Pot Pie Boneless pieces of slow-smoked marinated chicken, mixed with an assortment of braised pearl onions, sautéed celery, mushrooms, carrots and peas, napped in sherry infused cream gravy. Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie with candied bacon Southern Pecan Pie Made in-house from scratch, beginning with a flaky, tender pie dough, whole smoked pecans are baked into a rich filling, topped with lightly-sweetened fresh whipped cream. Sweet Potato Pie Using fresh sweet potatoes baked and seasoned with both sweet and savory spices. Fried Peach Pie The filling is made from dried fresh peaches wrapped in a flaky crust, then lightly fried to a crispy golden brown. So, seven tasty ways to add a few inches to your circumference on Thursday. Too bad 3/14 only comes once a year...
