Welcome, Padrecito
At 5:30 yesterday, Padrecito opened for business. Here's the skinny.

To mark the special occasion, we got a few words from chef Josh Fuzzy Berkus. As follows.
Pandrecito at Cole & Carl opens tommorrow. It'll be upscale Mexican food, as predicted, with such things as arctic char tacos, duck carnitas, and other $15-an-item fancy taqueria food. Surprisingly for Cole Valley, the menu is not at all vegetarian-friendly, sporting maybe four items for veggies, including the guacamole and chips. It is a very short and seasonal menu, though, so presumably the veggie choices will be better in the summer.
There's some speculation as to whether the name--revised from Papazote, which nearby Papalote struck down as too similar--is anything to do with the movie. Reports neither confirm nor deny, although it's going on our viewing list ASAP. We'll get back to you about the tequila list.
