How Did All This Poop Get On This Roof?Photo courtesy of Melissa M.
Look, we'll be the first to admit it: the following story is disgusting. Yet this is a neighborhood blog, and something very unneighborly is afoot. Thus, you could say it's our... duty to report it.

It seems that someone, or something, is dropping turds (hopefully but not definitely canine) all over the roof of 237 Steiner Street. Astute readers may recognize that address as the site of the "Shut Up Little Man" building. Well, now it has another claim to fame -- the brownest roof in town.

Reader Melissa M. emailed us yesterday with the following conundrum:
"A ton of feces has been slowly gathering on the roof of the building. It's big so it has to be from either a human or a large dog. We can't figure out where the hell it is coming from. 237 Steiner has no roof access and the building next to [ours] would have to have a quarterback's arm to reach that far. Plus most of it isn't in bags. We can only conclude the building on the other side (seen in the photo) might be tossing it on the roof. There are so many questions, like who is doing this? Why? Where is it coming from? This seems like a fucked up Lower Haight mystery only Haighteration can solve!"
We wish we could solve this one on our own, but sadly we're as baffled as Melissa. So we turn to you, readers, in the hopes that maybe you've seen some very unsanitary catapulting action on Steiner recently. If so, do let us know.
