Tips For Spending a Hot Day in Hayes ValleyThe back garden at Arlequin - Flickr/virtuallykc
We've already covered how to spend a rainy day in the neighborhood. Today, with temps approaching the 80s, it's time for the sunny counterpart.

Your first thought might be, "Biergarten!" Well, unfortunately, it's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. But there are plenty of other ways to enjoy today's spectacular weather. Want to catch some rays? Snag yourself a seat on a bench at Patricia's Green and watch the pups frolic in the heat. Or head towards Laguna and get a table at the new (large) outdoor area at Hayes & Kebab. For a little more shade, consider enjoying a glass or two of wine on the leafy, utopian back patio at Arlequin (pictured above). Or if you prefer streetside ambiance, try Momi Toby's, Chez Maman, Domo, or The Grove -- they all have outdoor seats with at least some protection from the sun. In need of some refreshment? We've got lots of options. Naturally, our thoughts turn to ice cream on a day like today -- and Smitten is your best bet, though expect the lines to be longer than usual. Or, for a unique alternative, treat yourself to a scoop of cold bread pudding at Schulzies. You can also cool off with an iced coffee from Blue Bottle or Ritual. And of course, bars and restaurants abound, if you want to quench your thirst with something a little stronger. Those are just a few suggestions for keeping cool in the neighborhood. Got any ideas we should add to the list? Let us know in the comments.
