Welcome to the 'hood: Laguna Cafe and Body of the Sheep.
It looks like 1821 Haight Street is the future home of Laguna Cafe. The business is owned by Khaled Hegazy, who used to own a hookah shop called Cairo Nights on Geary. He's filed some building permits for the space this week, although no liquor license just yet. We'll keep you posted. Also, a self-described "t-shirt joint" called Body of the Sheep moved in to the old Sock Shop space at 1780 Haight. They're owned by a Old School Shoes in downtown Santa Cruz, so it seems like they'll be targeting tourists. The inside is currently gutted, so we'll let you know what we hear about an opening date.
