Woman Shot Near Divisadero and McAllisterFlickr/alancleaver
A woman was shot in the torso last night while walking on McAllister between Scott and Divisadero, police said this morning.

SFPD Officer Gordon Shyy tells us the shooting occurred around 10:15pm. The bullet was apparently fired by an unknown suspect on the 1600 block of McAllister, between Divis and Broderick. The victim is described as a 26-year-old white female. She was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with a wound that was not considered life-threatening. Shortly after the shooting, reader Dan E. emailed us, claiming that he had heard "serious large caliber shots fired," prompting him to duck into Mini Bar until the cops arrived. Other ear-witnesses flocked to Twitter with reports of multiple gunshots in the area: Police describe the suspect as an unknown black male, who was last seen fleeing the area in a black sedan heading westward. We'll update if we get any additional information. Update 10:10am: A couple of readers have sent in photos documenting the impact of stray bullets from the shooting. Via Facebook, Kelly A. sent us this photo of a bullet hole at 1629 McAllister:
And on Twitter, @patrick_morrow posted these photos of a bullet that went through his wall and embedded itself in a book. This was between Scott and Pierce, so about a block away from where the victim was shot: Wow that was scary. Bullet shattered cabinet, embedded in a b... on Twitpic
