The SFJAZZ Center at Franklin and Fell has just announced the lineup for its second season, featuring plenty of big names from the world of jazz music and beyond.
The new season kicks off on August 26th, not with jazz but with comedy. Special guest Bill Cosby, who also emceed the venue's opening night back in January, is the evening's headliner. Splurge for a premium ticket and you get to mix and mingle with Cosby himself.
Other highlights of the season include multi-night stints by Terence Blanchard, Bill Frisell, Regina Carter, Maceo Parker, Jason Moran, Bobby Hutcherson, Wynton Marsalis, Rosanne Cash and more. Plus there will be evenings featuring the likes of Esperanza Spalding, Allen Toussaint, Branford Marsalis and Arturo Sandoval. Basically, it's going to be an amazing year.
Tickets for the season went on sale to SFJAZZ members on Tuesday. They'll become available to the general public in a couple of weeks, on Tuesday July 30th at 11am. Visit the SFJAZZ website for the full calendar.
