Anna's Market Closes
424 Hayes Street, which has been the home of Anna's Market since 1999, is undergoing some significant renovations, and Anna's is now closed -- perhaps forever.

A permit was filed a couple of weeks ago for "partial demolition of the current market space" at a cost of $275,000. Little other information is available about plans for the location, but we've reached out to the architect involved to try to get more details.
The windows of the space have been covered with plastic tarps, and the only reminder of the eclectic artwork that once adorned the market's storefront is a sign in the window advertising "Paintings for sale, visit our online galleries."
Phone calls to the market ring with no answer, so we've been unable to get in touch with the owners. We'll update this story when we get any more information.
