Haight and Fillmore Apartments Now Availablecraigslist.org
Two years ago this Friday, the building at 493 Haight Street was devastated by a massive fire. Now, after a full renovation, the residential units are available for rent -- and they ain't cheap.

A number of listings for the address popped up on Craigslist Friday evening. Originally, a studio was being offered for $1,995. That reference has since been removed. Now the available units include 2-bedrooms for $3494 a month, and a 700-square-foot 1-bedroom for $3,995. Let that sink in for a moment. A 700-square-foot 1-bedroom, for $3,995 a month. That's the most expensive Lower Haight 1-bedroom currently available on Craigslist. "This building retains its traditional San Francisco exterior with all new modern apartments inside," the ads declare. Also, "you are conveniently located just 4 blocks (Haight & Divisidero) [sic] from several corporate shuttle buses." As for the units themselves, they include:
  • Kitchens with stainless steel appliances: gas stove/oven, dishwasher, refrigerator and garbage disposal; Ceasarstone counters; beautiful hardwood cabinetry.
  • Hardwood floors
  • Tiled bathrooms -- some 1.5 baths
  • Various layouts & unique features include: Views; private balconies or decks, bay windows
  • Non-smoking units
So if you want to live in the heart of the Lower Haight, and somehow have $48K a year to spend on rent, here's your chance.
