If you missed the first Wiggle Green Corridor Open House back in June, you're in luck -- there's a second meeting tonight.

The SFMTA and SFPUC are teaming up to make the Wiggle greener and more absorbent. Goals are twofold: to prevent the local sewer system from getting overwhelmed during storms, and to improve conditions for pedestrians and cyclists along the route. To achieve those ends, the project might:
  • Manage stormwater using permeable paving and rain gardens
  • Enhance pedestrian safety with bulbouts and raised crosswalks
  • Add stormwater collection areas to Duboce Park
  • Improve transit on Haight Street
The public's feedback is sought for these proposals -- thus, tonight's meeting. It runs from 5pm to 7:30pm at the Electrical Workers Union Hall (55 Fillmore), and "anybody who lives in the neighborhood or anybody who wants to see improvement along the iconic Wiggle route" is encouraged to attend. Snacks, importantly, will be provided.
