More Details On Monsieur BenjaminDavid Baker + Partners
It's been about 5 months since we first learned about Monsieur Benjamin, the new restaurant being planned for 451 Gough. But yesterday, some new details emerged.

Inside Scoop has the... inside scoop on the restaurant from Corey Lee, the chef-owner of Benu. Lee is quoted as saying it'll be a "modern bistro" with a large menu and a late-night component. In other new details, Lee has hired chef Jason Berthold, formerly of RN74, French Laundry, and Per Se, to run the kitchen. The restaurant, which will be located on the ground level of the new 300 Ivy development, will have seating for 95 inside and 16 outside. As for the name, Lee says he heard someone say it in Paris, and liked the juxtaposition of French and American words -- a likely indication of the direction of the restaurant as well. Look for Monsieur Benjamin to open in "spring 2014." We'll update accordingly.
