Taste, the tea lounge at 535 Octavia, has closed.
Several readers contacted us recently with concerns about the shop's fate, noting that it's been closed since December with no explanation. So we checked in with owner Vincent Fung, who tells us that Taste did indeed have to close because its lease was up. It's not all doom and gloom, however. Fung tells us that he's currently looking to relocate the tea lounge to a new space. So hopefully we'll be able to find Taste at a new address soon. This is the second business on this block of Octavia to close this month. California Made Mercantile, just two doors north, will close on Wednesday. That will leave Reliquary as the sole shop on the west side of Octavia between Ivy and Grove.
