Cisco Home Is Moving Out
After being open for five years on Hayes Street, Cisco Home is gearing up to say goodbye to their Hayes Valley location.

They plan to move out within the next two months, making way for new mixed-use construction on the corner of Hayes at Laguna.
While most Cisco stores are located in southern California, owner Cisco Pinedo happened to be here in San Francisco yesterday when we dropped by. We got a chance to speak with him about this store and its future. "We don't like the idea of losing our home, but we get that SF needs more housing," Cisco said when asked how he felt about having to leave due to construction for new mixed-use development. "We hate to see this building go away, but for density it's the price we pay." "While we're mostly located in LA, we've loved being a part of Hayes Valley over the past few years" he told us. "We always thought the style and feel of this neighborhood matches the products we sell when it comes to sustainability and design." Another employee, Robert Pintozzi, said he's been living here since 1974, and has seen the neighborhood drastically change. "I remember when this spot was run down. The transformation has been remarkable." So where does a giant furniture store go when it wants to stay in business but doesn't have a home yet? It does a pop-up. There isn't an exact plan yet, but Cisco says they want to stay in the area if possible. Come this spring and summer, they'll try to do pop-ups until they sign a new lease. "Maybe in the first floor of the new building if it works out," Cisco added.
Until they leave in late March or early April, most items in the store are on sale, several up to 75%. If you're in the market for a new couch, table, bedding, or artwork, stop by and check it out. And if you travel down to the peninsula often, they're opening a new location in Palo Alto in a few weeks.
