The Mill Gets A Parklet
The Mill's new parklet is here! Well - sort of here.

At the moment it's just a pile of bricks and wood, but soon? It's going to stretch out luxuriously over three parking spaces. We stopped by and talked to designer and builder Roman Hunt about the plans, and got a couple snapshots of what the space is going to look like.
Having built both the interior and exterior of Four Barrel on Valencia , constructed the exquisite wooden ceiling at Four Barrel Portola, and created The Mill, Roman is no stranger to the multi-faceted aesthetics of wood. This parklet, though simple in its design, is going to incorporate all of the things San Francisco loves. Plants, for an added touch of greenery. Benches, for basking in our bizarre winter sunshine. And a useful and hip bike rack, fabricated by the same guy who built the one outside Four Barrel's Valencia location. The great thing about parklets is they're generally built pretty quickly, so this one should be wrapping up in 10 - 14 days. We'll see you out there with a slice of Josey Baker's excellent toast. Also? The Mill just turned 1! Stay tuned for a post about how they're going to celebrate, because you're very much invited.
