Whole Hog Butchery Fundraiser At 4505 Meats
Remember when we mentioned a hog roast in our 4505 Meats post a couple weeks ago? Good news - it's happening this weekend.

If you like pork, BBQ, supporting victims of fire, and getting sneak peeks at hot new neighborhood spots, then get yourself over to 705 Divisadero this Sunday, February 9th. 4505 Meats will be throwing a meat-tastic whole hog cookout in the parking lot of their new restaurant (which will soon be turned into an outdoor patio, by the way). So who is this all for? Well, us in a way, because we get to reap the benefits of Ryan Farr’s cooking. But also South Carolina pit master Rodney Scott, who lost all of his BBQ pits in a fire last November. This hog roast is part of a nationwide fundraiser to rebuild his business. We love the idea of BBQ aficionados all over the country rallying to help a guy out. The details: $20 - $25 sliding scale for a plate of pig and sides, with 100% of the proceeds going to Rodney’s new pits. Tickets can be purchased here. If you can’t make the event but want to have your own personal hog cooked in your very own backyard, guess what: that can happen too! 4505 Meats will also be auctioning off two private events on Ebay. The first is a backyard whole-hog cookout dinner for up to 45 people (drinks included). The second is a 15-person meal at the new 4505 location, or a 15-person whole-hog butchery class at La Cocina led by Ryan. Finally, if you want to know a little more about Rodney Scott check out the video below.
