Crime-wise, the past month or so in the Lower Haight has been thankfully quiet. But it hasn't been silent.
Here are a few events that came to our attention courtesy of the SFPD, nextdoor.com, and our readers.
On February 27th just before midnight, a man was approached by a group of men near Duboce and Church. One of the men walked up, hit the victim in the face, and took his wallet and a bracelet. The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction.
On March 8th around 8:15am, a woman on the 200 block of Hermann Street heard a noise in her garage. She walked down her stairs and found a man inside her home holding her property. The suspect ran out the front door, with the woman and neighbors chasing after him. Police were flagged down, and after a lengthy foot chase, the suspect was apprehended and taken into custody. The woman's property was recovered.

A woman who lives on Buchanan between Waller and Hermann says her propery was broken into on the evening of March 21st. She says thieves climbed her gate and front balcony to enter the building, and stole a bike.
On March 24th, a woman reported that her car parked at the corner of Scott and Fulton had its window smashed in. She says the suspect "ransacked" her car, but fortunately she had no valuables inside to steal.

Also on the morning of March 8th, a local resident reported that his car suffered a hit-and-run collision while parked on Haight east of Buchanan. He estimates that the incident occurred between 3am and 6:30am. Whenever it occurred, it left his front bumper with some pretty significant damage:
