Haight And Gough Construction UpdatePhoto: Jared Schwartz/Hoodline
Wondering what's up with all that construction on Haight Street? We were too.

If you live on the southern end of Hayes Valley or been on the 6 or 71 recently, you probably noticed Haight Street is going through a serious makeover between Gough and Octavia. It's down to one lane heading west and there are orange cones as far as the eye can see (as long as your eye can only see one block).

According to SFMTA, this is part of the Market & Haight Streets Transit and Pedestrian Improvement Project. More specifically, they're going Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles on us and working on the sewers.

Their recent update says "As the sewer work continues on Haight Street between Haight & Gough intersection and Octavia Street, crews will be laying foundations for the Muni overhead wire poles at various locations starting this week. This work will not affect the traffic; however street parking will not be available around the work areas."

So whatever you do between now and April 10, don't park your car here during the day:

While this portion should last for another few weeks, the overall project is scheduled to complete sometime this summer. Can't wait to meet Donatello and Leonardo soon.
