The Perish Trust To Reopen March 19th
You may have noticed that sundries shop The Perish Trust , along with Umami Mart in the back, have been closed for the past few weeks. But don’t worry, they aren’t going away for good.

We spoke with Katie Thomas from the shop, and she confirmed that they had shut their doors for the purpose of doing some necessary earthquake retrofitting. And with that 6.9 that hit off the coast of Eureka on Sunday, they couldn’t have picked a better time.

The store will reopen on March 19th with the same overall aesthetic but with a few minor changes, including a new coat of paint on the interior, some pillars and a new apothecary section that will offer a variety of soaps, elixirs, sprays and, as Katie puts it, “other things to make you look good, smell good.”

The Perish Trust has been in the neighborhood since October 2009, and we’re glad to see they are planning on sticking around, as evidenced by their commitment to earthquake safety.
