The Mayor Is ComingUC Berkeley, Bancroft Library
Dust off your finest top hat and tame your unruly mustache, because the mayor is on his way to the Lower Haight.

Yes, Mayor Ed Lee (not pictured above) will be here next Tuesday for a ceremony at the newly-reopened Three Twins Ice Cream shop at 254 Fillmore. The event is to celebrate the store's return, more than two years after a 2011 fire forced it and surrounding businesses to close. "Rather than a ceremonial 'ribbon cutting', Mayor Ed Lee will be commemorating the day with a giant scoop of ice cream, alongside Three Twins Founder, Neal Gottlieb," the company announced via press release. There will be special flavors on hand that day, including Pistachio, Raspberry Sorbet, and the company's newest packaged flavor, Land of Milk and Honey. This all goes down at 3pm on Tuesday, March 11th. If you can't make it, there will be more celebrations at the shop the following weekend (the 15th/16th), with ice cream "happy hours" from 11am to 3pm featuring more special varieties. We'll post a reminder next week.
