We’ve got a wide array of updates for you today. Join us as we discuss a shop in Hayes Valley expanding to another part of town, a business that needs your help to open, and new bike lanes near City Hall.

MO’ MACARONS, MO LOCATIONS

One of Hayes Valley’s sweet shops is expanding to another part of town. Chantal Guillon, the French macaron shop at 437 Hayes, is opening up a new store in SoMa. With their other shop in Palo Alto, this will be their third location.

The new SoMa edition will have an expanded menu, serving breakfast and lunch along with the usual assortment of macarons. Chantal Guillon hopes to open on Howard Street in June.

BIRBA WINE BAR
Remember when we shared news that BIRBA Wine Bar was applying for their liquor license and working on a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds? Both are in full gear. BIRBA has submitted all papers for its beer and wine license, and has raised almost $14,000 through the crowd-funding website.

With $6,000 still needed in the next 10 days, Angie Valgiusti can use your help. If you want to donate, or know anyone who does, check out her Kickstarter campaign or watch the video below:

BIKE LANES ON POLK
For those of you who walk to Bart or bike up Polk Street, you might be familiar with the construction that recently took place at Polk and Grove. As of this weekend, all repairs are complete, making navigating through this intersection a little easier.

If you look up Polk Street, you'll notice things have suddenly gotten greener in front of City Hall. Similar to other stretches of the city, bike lanes have been painted in bright green to make the lane much more obvious (and safer) for riders.

All of this is part of SFMTA’s Polk Street Improvement Project. You can learn more about it here or check out the bikeway which the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition mentions here
