Upper Haight Hit By BrownoutsPhoto: Amy Stephenson/Hoodline
You're not crazy: your lights were unusually dim between about 5pm and 8pm last night.

To our knowledge, it never showed up on PG&E's outage map (which is not totally surprising), but we heard multiple reports of intermittent brownouts for about 3 hours last evening starting at about 5pm.

It started with a resident around the Ashbury intersection who was telling us that her power was on, but strange things were happening, such as the clock on her stove being so dim she couldn't read it.

Then, we noticed the street light at the Ashbury intersection was out.

We tweeted PG&E, as one does, and they responded almost immediately that about 1,000 customers were being affected in the Upper Haight and Cole Valley, and would continue to be for the next 2.5 hours or so.

As of this writing, PG&E still doesn't know the cause of the outage.

So, not as bad at last time, but not as good as usual.
