Several weeks after construction completed at 1600 Market, we've learned that Golden Gate Urgent Care is opening their second facility on the ground floor of the mixed-use building.

Located where Market, Page, and Franklin intersect, the first floor was originally slated to be built out for retail, but a permit application was recently submitted to change the use from Retail to Medical Services.

We spoke with the general contractor for the building who informed us that Golden Gate Urgent Care has obtained a permit for the space and is now working on one for the design. We've reached out to Golden Gate Urgent Care to learn more but haven't heard back yet.

According to their website, Golden Gate Urgent Care describes themselves as:

"An Urgent Care clinic ... with extended hours for pediatric and adult patients, who need to be seen by a provider for a non-life threatening concern. Those who seek services at Urgent Care are often unable to be seen by their primary care provider, do not have a primary care provider, do not hold insurance, or are traveling."

1600 Market is unique because all 23 units are Below Market Rate (BMR), in contrast to several new residential buildings in the neighborhood where only a few units (if any) were set aside for that classification.

According to CurbedSF, the asking price ranged between $201,345 to $223,906 and a lottery took place at the end of last year. The building doesn't provide any space for parking, but does come with a 2000 sq. ft. roof deck and bike parking.

If you're concerned about ambulances keeping you up all night, don't be. Their current facility closes at 8pm on weekdays (4pm on weekends) and they only do walk-ins and appointments.

Stay tuned for further developments.
