Got the itch to do some rummaging? This weekend is for you.

This Sunday from 10am to 3pm, the North of the Panhandle Neighborhood Association (NOPNA) will be hosting their 2nd annual sidewalk sale. Take a stroll through the area between Fell and Turk and Masonic and Divisadero and peruse the many treasures participating households have to offer.

Last year, around sixty residences hocked their wares under the April sun. Around that many have already registered this time around, so it’s sure to be even bigger than before. Folks that register online through NOPNA get placed on an official map of all the participating households. If you’d like to do so, email them at board{at}nopna{dot}org. Registration is free.

Here’s a map of participants thus far:

According to Kyra Millich of NOPNA, the intentions behind the sale are pretty straightforward:

“I came up with the idea last year because I've always had successes at garage sales in San Francisco.  Either by finding novel items or getting things I 'need' for a steal.  Plus, it's fun to haggle.  San Francisco has the unique gift of people from all over with limited space.  Why not make the most of a spring cleaning and a great community of people?”

So if you’re not busy this Sunday afternoon, head a few blocks west of Divis and find some bargains. It’s supposed to be in sunny and in the upper 60’s.

Happy hunting!
