One of the neighborhood's more unusual and historic buildings, The Long Distance Telephone Building at 871 Page, is now for sale.
Located between Pierce and Scott Streets, the building is listed for just under $3 million ($2,995,000, to be precise).

Built in 1895, the building was originally known as the Park Exchange.  It routed service for roughly 8,000 of the city's 52,000 telephone subscribers at the turn of the 20th Century. The building was one of only two telephone exchange facilities to survive the 1906 earthquake, making it a crucial lifeline for San Franciscans trying to communicate with the outside world.

The building later served as a Masonic hall, and in recent years, it became home to multiple digital media and recording studios.  Now it's been transformed into a 7,000-square-foot, multi-unit residential property, and the whole shebang is up for grabs.
