A pedestrian was struck at Octavia and Haight at approximately 4pm this afternoon.
The San Francisco Police tweeted this out at 4:30pm, letting everyone know about the heavy traffic (and helicopters) in the area:
The most recent update is a correction to the SFPD's first tweet, stating that the person wasn't thrown into the street:
An earlier version of this post misstated that the incident occurred at Hayes and Octavia. It happened at Haight and Octavia.

The original report said that a pedestrian was struck and the driver initially remained at the scene. According to early 911 calls, the pedestrian was thrown into the street and the suspect might have fled the area in a white vehicle.#BREAKING: Pedestrian struck by vehicle near Haight & Octavia in SF after possibly being thrown into the street.
