Osso & Co. Is Closing Its DoorsPhoto: Christopher Matson
Osso & Co., NoPa's local designer doggie store, is closing its doors after 7 years in the neighborhood, citing a sharp increase in rent.
Specializing in high-end pet items like organic dog treats and indestructible eggplant-shaped chew toys, they've been a neighborhood go-to for that moment when you forget doggie bags or feel the need to spoil your pooch. Business has been good, but the store's rent has doubled, forcing them to close up shop.

This Craigslist ad lists the space as 1,600 square feet, with 12-foot ceilings and two bathrooms. Any regulars also know that it has impeccable hardwood floors and huge windows opening up onto the corner of Broderick and Hayes. Despite being in a largely residential section of NoPa, it's prime storefront real estate.

Their lease isn't up for another 3 months, so be sure to swing by and pick up your favorite canine toys in the meantime. And don't forget to say hi to Sydney Bristow, the stylin' 13-year-old hairless dog often found sunbathing in the doorway.
